What’s better than getting together with your girlfriends in the mountains? Getting together with your girlfriends in the mountains and giving them an “apres ski” assignment. That’s right. Give the gals a goal, and they WILL deliver- they just need someone to lead the way!
I truly am lost when there isn’t a theme or vibe to drive a celebration, so I 100% will stay committed to the bit. Decorations of snowflakes, ski and tree décor, furs and bling completely set the vibe for this weekend away. Also, the massive amounts of champagne in the hot tub helped. The snowy ski afternoons were just the icing on top!
We stayed at a gorgeous air bnb quite literally nestled into the side of a mountain. If you didn’t have 4 wheel drive or snow tires, you were most certainly not getting up the driveway to this place. My favorite parts of the house were 1. the massive wrap-around porch with unobstructed views of the mountains and 2. a massive farm table to enjoy eats & games with friends. Might I add that this house had HEATED floors? I don’t want to brag but this felt elite.
We were about a 30 minute drive to Bretton Woods Ski Resort, one of my favorites (when the conditions are prime of course). I am not afraid to admit that I am indeed a fairweather skier. I do not enjoy and will not partake in the beautiful sport if there is a sheet of ice on the mountain or if the trails are steep and scary. I would much rather enjoy wide green trails with the perfect fluffy snow, and if it’s not serving that - you can find me in the lodge sipping hot toddy’s reading my kindle by the fire<3
Since it was my besties birthday that weekend, I found a local baker and gave her my instagram inspriation photo. She nailed it and the cake was delicious! We all dressed in our ski bunny best and started the night by drinking to an early 2000’s pop happy hour on youtube. All night we played hilarious games and ate “walking taco’s” straight out of the bag. Recipe to come, you’re not gonna wanna miss it.
