Something blue.

“Something blue” comes from an old English rhyme meant to bring luck and protection to a marriage:

“Something old, something new,
something borrowed, something blue,
and a sixpence in her shoe.”

The blue specifically symbolizes love, fidelity, and purity. blue was historically associated with faithfulness and was even worn by brides long before white gowns became popular.

Today, “something blue” is usually a sweet, subtle detail… blue stitching inside a gown, a sapphire ring, a touch of blue in a corsage - meant to quietly carry that wish for a loyal, committed marriage into your day.

It’s less about superstition now and more about sentiment: a small, intentional nod to tradition woven into a very personal celebration. Are you planning on incorporating something blue into your wedding day as a bride or groom?
